Pontyclun Bosom Pals is a wonderful support group dedicated to helping breast cancer patients through their treatment and beyond. The group meets as often as possible, creating a warm and welcoming space where friendship, resilience, and community spirit flourish. They also organise their own fundraising events throughout the year to support their work.
Recently, Bosom Pals celebrated their 17th Anniversary at The Boars Head pub, with around 50 local residents joining the joyful occasion. The celebration was attended by Mayor Cllr Sheryl Evans, who highlighted the group’s incredible journey, including their memorable visit to the Senedd in a Pink Cadillac and their empowering Calendar Girls-style calendar.
The event featured live entertainment, a buffet kindly hosted by Cllr Wayne Owen, and a raffle to support future initiatives. Attendees shared heartfelt reflections on the group, describing Bosom Pals as “a hug in a mug” and “a lifeline” that provides strength, support, and extended family to its members. Truly an amazing group of ladies, Bosom Pals continue to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer.
