Valley Veterans is a military veteran-led organisation based in the heart of the Rhondda Valley at Ton Pentre. Founded over 10 years ago as an informal support group for PTSD sufferers, Valley Veterans is now a vibrant hub with more than 140 active participants mainly from the R.C.T. area but a few from further afield as well.
Current organised activities include a weekly breakfast club that is hosted in the Ton Pentre Community Centre and attracts up to 60 veterans every Thursday and daily equine and horticultural activities at the adjacent land that attracts many of our members.
We offer peer to peer support for our members who suffer from P.T.S.D. as well as equine therapy and gardening facilities. We invite and host other groups, charities, our local council liasson officer and 3rd party support groups to our meeting to help us support our members as well as just giving our members a place where they are among new and old friends in a safe enviroment to catch up and keep social isolation at bay.
We are a registered charity with plans to build on our land in Ton Pentre to extend and enhance our horticultural and equine centre to better support our members and the wider community. We are totally volunteer-led and run and are always on the look-out for currently serving or ex-service personel and their families to join us on our journey.
