Ynysybwl Community Centre is open to all ages and abilities.
We are open 3 days a week {Monday/Wednesday/Friday} for low cost hot lunches, consisting of 2 courses and a drink.
Ynysybwl Community Foodbank is available on the days we are open.
Once a month, on a Tuesday morning (check our Facebook page for dates) we have a chiropodist visit the Centre (charges apply).
We host a weekly Friday Friends group with quizzes, games and general chat.
Every Wednesday morning we have a Baby Bank, open to anyone in Ynysybwl and Coed y Cwm who is in need of baby and toddler items. Wednesday evening is Youth Club night, with lots of activities for the younger members of the community.
The first Tuesday of every month, Ynysybwl & Coed y Cwm Community Council hold their meetings at the Centre, which are open to the general public.
Thursday mornings are given over to the local Church for their weekly meeting.
We have a book swap available and also a childrens library.
Taff Vale Practice recently held a flu jab clinic at the Centre and it is hoped that more clinics will be held there in the future.
In recent years we have held a Warm Hub which was accessed by many locals throughout the winter months. We are hoping to do this again next year if funding allows.
Several events are held at the Centre throughout the year. Previous events include:
- VE day afternoon tea
- Coronation party
- Tea with Santa
- Youth discos
- Christmas Craft Fayre
- Over 60s Christmas lunches
- Fundraising events
The Centre is available for hire for parties, funerals, meetings etc.
We are run by a dedicated group of volunteers and are always willing to accommodate more! We can provide you with Food Hygiene certificates and First Aid training free of charge.
