Marilyn our cook needs volunteers to help her in the kitchen and cafe. We provide hot meals to older people in their homes, food boxes and a lovely menu in Taffy's cafe.
Duties include:
Food preparation, chopping peeling, washing etc.
Food presentation
Dishwashing
General cleaning
Packing hot meals
Help prepare buffets for conference guests and outside catering
Check rotation dates of fridge, freezer and general food.
The cafe is open between 10am and 2pm but it would be good if you could come in a little earlier on hot meals days - Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Induction and on the job training will be given as well as mileage or bus fares to and from the Feel Good Factory and a lovely lunch on the days you work. You will be an important member of our team and a great help to Marilyn and the volunteer team.
You will need a DBS police check but we will pay for that. We will put you through your Food Hygiene Level 2 training and any other relevant training you need. This is an ideal opportunity for people looking for experience in a kitchen and community setting and to gain qualifications. You will be a valuable member of our happy volunteer team.
