Join Healthy Hillsides and Llanfair Uniting Church Penrhys for a Balsam Bash community event!
Himilayan balsam is an invasive species that, when left, overgrows and restricts the development of native species on our Welsh hillsides. Join Tara from the Wildlife Trust to learn about why and how you should balsam bash to reinvigorate the hillsides where you live. The activity will consist of walking the hillsides to identify balsam and pull or cut the plants before they flower and spread their seeds.
Where? Penrhys Fawr hillside.
When? Tuesday, August 23rd at 10am - 1pm.
Meeting point? Our Lady of Penrhys carpark.
Materials needed: Appropriate sturdy footwear for uneven and sloped terrain and suitable clothes for variable weather, plus water to stay hydrated.
