Childcare & Adult Services
Llanharan Community Development Project is based in Llanharan. Here at LCDP, we look to identify the needs and well-being of the people primarily within the areas of Llanharan, Brynna and Bryncae, and offer support whereever is possible. Through partnerships and employing local qualified staff, we aim to deliver high quality childcare, play opportunities and education.
Our provisions include our day nursery, Playtots playgroup, afterschool club (based in Bryncae Community Centre), Youth Club, Holiday Club, Activity Clubs and playschemes.
We also host a number of different community learning opportunities at LCDP to suit many different ages and abilities. Courses are run by highly trained tutors who have lots of knowledge and experience in the areas they are teaching. We offer various courses throughout term time that currently include art and computing.
During the last year, many of our services had to adapted to take into account the Covid-19 pandemic. Staff and volunteers have given out over 1000 food boxes to the elderly and isolated. We have also given out craft packs, Christmas packs, Valentine's Day bags, and Mother's Day gift bags to the community, with a Father's Day event planned in June.
We're always on hand to help the community and we love where we live. It's great to be part of such an amazing community!
We have recently created a community garden within Brynna Allotments. We were sucessful receiving a grant from Keep Wales Tidy to help plan and create a community space, and now thanks to our volunteers, this space is flourishing and growing local produce for the community to enjoy.
