Crocels Research CIC, also known as the Centre for Research into Online Communities and E-Learning Systems, is a leading community interest company and learned society dedicated to advancing knowledge and understanding in technology, media, and society.

With a commitment to innovation and public service, we aim to foster critical thinking, academic excellence through our education and training initiatives and our impactful research and fieldtrips, responding to the evolving needs of our communities.

We specialise in supporting people from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds, including neurodiverse and other disability groups; Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities; ethnic minorities and refugees; young offenders, people on probation and release from prison; people on low incomes, pensioners and the retired; veterans and other people associated with the armed forces and emergency services.

We have a long history of providing support worker services to those in receipt of Adult Social Care, Disabled Students Allowance, Access to Work, Access to Public Life and IRPW/DBCC Carers’ Allowance in England & Wales, including to help them explore Fellowship opportunities in our locations.

As a community interest company we use our profits to support projects in the community in which we are located, namely Taf Ely. In particular we are keen to link members and other individuals associated with our community with sister communities, in our locations.

Any surplus profits are either reinvested into the company or given to our charities. The surplus is particularly used to run our Fellowship programme to support young people, people with disabilities, those with an association with the armed forces, seafarers and mariners, and people in control of an animal.
