Re:Make Valleys offer a repair space in partnership with Repair Café Wales, a Zero Waste / refill shop full of affordable household essentials, and a Library Of Things where the community can borrow various tools, home and garden items.
If you have any skills that you'd like to share with the community, then we'd like to hear from you.
These skills could be anything around reuse, repairing and cost-of-living such as: knitting, woodcrafting, repurposing various items, upcycling, home-making and DIYing and more.
Skill share sessions / events will be held at the Maerdy Hub 4 times a year and are aimed at empowering the community with useful skills to make life a little easier.
Hours: 4-8 hours every 3 months.
Responsibilities:
▪ Work with the Re:Make team to plan 4 skill share events per year.
▪ Help publicise the events
▪ Work with the Re:Make team to source any event materials needed
▪ Set up and host the event, with help from other volunteers
▪ Work with the Re:Make team to confirm what would be required from the
Benthyg venue area
As a volunteer, what do you get?
▪ Access to free borrowing by using your volunteering time as a payment method
▪ Become part of a team of local volunteers within the wider Benthyg and Repair Café communities, all cheering you on
▪ Training where you can learn at your own speed
▪ Travel expenses paid.
There are a number of volunteer roles available at Re:Make Valleys which can be done alongside this one.
