The company will be rehearsing their new performance work ‘Us’; part of their new double-production ‘Us and Them’. They will be preparing the work for premiere productions in June in two special pilot performances in Llandrindod Wells and Treorchy. They then plan to tour the work across Wales.
There will then be a question and answer session in which participants can ask the performers or Director any questions and/or to give feedback to the cast.
‘Us’, is a dance theatre work involving movement, speech and live music which explores the theme of ‘sharing’… What and why do we share with others and how are our stories received? How do we share with others in a modern world? Narratives within the work have been collected from community participants through the development of the piece and also tell stories from the dancers’ own lives. In addition, the dancers have been working closely with a British sign language interpreter to learn sign language and integrate it into the work to help make the speech elements accessible to Deaf people. The company’s interpreter will be present throughout the rehearsal to share our ways of working with participants and also to interpret the rehearsal and for participants if needed.

The open rehearsal will be on the 11th of May from10:am until 1pm.

Mae ‘Us’, yn waith theatr ddawns sy’n cynnwys symud, lleferydd a cherddoriaeth fyw sy’n archwilio’r thema ‘rhannu’… Beth a pham rydyn ni’n ei rannu ag eraill a sut mae ein straeon yn cael eu derbyn? Sut ydyn ni'n rhannu ag eraill mewn byd modern? Mae naratifau o fewn y gwaith wedi’u casglu gan gyfranogwyr cymunedol trwy ddatblygu’r darn a hefyd yn adrodd straeon o fywydau’r dawnswyr eu hunain. Yn ogystal, mae'r dawnswyr wedi bod yn gweithio'n agos gyda dehonglydd iaith arwyddion Prydeinig i ddysgu iaith arwyddion a'i hintegreiddio i'r gwaith i helpu i wneud yr elfennau lleferydd yn hygyrch i bobl Fyddar. Bydd dehonglydd y cwmni yn bresennol trwy gydol yr ymarfer i rannu ein ffyrdd o weithio gyda chyfranogwyr a hefyd i ddehongli’r ymarfer ac i gyfranogwyr os oes angen.
