Looking after me and you - A free, online course for carers

Are you a carer? Are you looking after someone at home - maybe a family or friend? Join us for a free, online 6 week course. 

 

Carers Wales and GAVO are running a course by carers, for all carers across Wales. The course will be online and conducted over Zoom, for free. The course runs for 6 weeks, with 1 session a week falling on a Friday. Attendees are expected to attend each of the sessions for the 6 week course and topics covered include:

 

Week 1
  • Overview of the programme
  • Thoughtful breathing
  • Improving fatigue
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Action plans

Week 2
  • Feedback / sharing
  • Problem solving
  • Staying healthy

Week 3
  • Difficult thoughts & emotions
  • Getting a good nights sleep

Week 4
  • Make decisions
  • Helpful / unhelpful thinking
  • Getting help

Week 5
  • Medication use
  • Future planning & legal issues
  • Relaxation

Week 6
  • Working with health care systems * health care professionals
  • Communication
  • Looking back & planning for the future
