? Introducing Tyfu Sgiliau - Growing Skills
We’re thrilled to launch Tyfu Sgiliau/Growing Skills, a FREE community project offering hands-on workshops in cooking, preserving and pickling, woodworking and biochar production! Funded by the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund, these workshops are designed to build practical skills, promote sustainable living, and bring together people across Rhondda Cynon Taf.
? Cooking with Seasonal Veg
We’re excited to invite you to our Cooking with Seasonal Veg workshop series! Join us for a fun, hands-on cooking session led by Dan Townsend, Community Facilitator, as we explore cooking with in-season, locally sourced vegetables! Participants will learn how to make a flavourful, homemade onion chutney using fresh ingredients from the Llysh Bocs, a sustainable, lovingly grown veg box subscription project by Down to Zero.
? What to Expect:
- Learn to cook with seasonal veggies using an air fryer, dehydrator, electric all-in-one cooker and hob.
- Gain new skills in cooking techniques, from roasting to stewing to dehydrating.
- Build confidence in using measurements and learning basic numeracy for cooking.
- Connect with others who care about local food and sustainability!
Participants need only attend one session, with ingredients including potatoes, onions, parsnips, spring onions, carrots, and tomatoes. Come and cook up something amazing!
