Re:Make Valleys offer a repair space in partnership with Repair Café Wales, a Zero Waste / refill shop full of affordable household essentials, and a Library Of Things where the community can borrow various tools, home and garden items.
The Library of Things is currently based in Maerdy Hub, but we want to make sure that these items can be borrowed by people elsewhere in the Rhondda Valleys!
We'd like a driver to deliver & collect borrowed items between Maerdy Hub and The Little Shed in Tonypandy, and we hope to expand this as far as Porth and Treherbert in future.
Hours: 1-10 hours per week
Responsibilities:
▪ Liaising directly with members to arrange convenient delivery/collection
times
▪ Checking out/in items as they are delivered or collected
▪ Carrying verbal check in & check out processes on members’ doorsteps
▪ Providing own transport – expenses all reimbursed.
As a volunteer, what do you get?
▪ Access to free borrowing by using your volunteering time as a payment method
▪ Become part of a team of local volunteers within the wider Benthyg and Repair Café communities, all cheering you on
▪ Training where you can learn at your own speed - including manual handling
▪ Travel expenses paid
There are a number of volunteer roles available at Re:Make Valleys which can be done alongside this one.
