The Cwm Taf Nature Network (CTNN) are working with multiple partners including the newly constituted and dynamic, Rhondda Litter Pickers and Environment, and Keep Wales Tidy to host our first series of Balsam Bash events as part of an amazing new 20 green spaces project for wellbeing and biodiversity connectivity.
We are inviting you to become part of a network of active groups and volunteers across Bridgend, RCT & Merthyr and join us on this day during, National Invasives Week.
Himalayn Balsam though beautiful to look at has a negative effect on native plants by shading them out. Then come winter when the plant dies back, it leaves the ground bare and vulnerable to erosion. One of the biggest problems caused by Himalayan Balsam is the damage is causes to habitats along banks and riversides, such as fish spawning beds.
CTNN Project is a Welsh government funded via ENRaW (Enabling Natural Resources and Wellbeing scheme) during this event you will be mentored by Llais Y Goedwig about why this work is so very important for our natural environment and directly contributes to tackling climate change
