Free advice, support and training to parents & carers of children with behaviours that challenge.
Behaviour Support Hub is a parent-led charity that supports parents & carers of children with behaviours that challenge, possibly due to their additional needs. Our niche quality is that no diagnosis is required for parent carers to access support, which is inclusive of all additional needs such as: Autism Spectrum Disorder; Attention Defect Hyperactivity Disorder; Learning difficulties; Anxiety and other mental health conditions. We recognise that pre-diagnosis is an important time where early intervention and support can make a great deal of difference.
Established by a volunteer group of proactive parents who struggled to find the support they needed for their children, who were diagnosed with behaviour issues such as Autism and ADHD.
With services overstretched and short-term support being diagnostic-specific, parent carers are often under chronic stress, they may feel isolated with nowhere to turn for help and often turn to us at crisis point. This feeling of isolation and difficulties in accessing services has increased, and our aim is to ensure that no parent feels that they are alone.
Our multifaceted approach delivers free services including workshops, training, peer support groups, expert guest speakers, bespoke one-to-one support, 24-hour online Facebook support and membership to our growing peer support network of nearly 3400 members.
We continuously develop our services to ensure that they are specifically tailored to meet our families needs in order to fulfil our social aims to help parents understand their child’s condition and potential reasons behind the challenging behaviours. Our aim is to help empower parents to feel more able to effectively communicate, not only with their child but with schools, health and other professional so that they can support their child to reach their potential with a fullfilled life.
