What’s a Homeware Hero Volunteer?

Do you have a love of homeware, bric-a-brac and collectibles? And an eye for what would appeal and sell? Can you help boost our sales by creating interesting displays and collections?

 What’s involved?

  • Sorting, cleaning and pricing donated items
  • Researching rare finds and unusual items
  • Attractively displaying the homeware/collectibles on the shop floor
  • Rotating the stock to keep displays interesting

What’s in it for you?

  •  A chance to demonstrate your enthusiasm for the homeware/collectibles
  • Scope to work on your own initiative as well as being part of a team
  • An opportunity to showcase your creativity to increase our homeware sales
  • The possibility to branch out into other shop areas

Additional Benefits

  • We aim to be as flexible as possible so you can volunteer around your other commitments
  • You’ll feel our appreciation from Day One for being a part of our organisation and making a difference in people’s lives
  •  A personalised induction to your shop
  • The opportunity to work within a small knit team with like-minded people to bring new ideas to the shop, meet new people, apply for internal vacancies, learn new skills or refresh old ones and enhance your CV, gain confidence and self esteem
  • Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed in line with Tenovus Cancer Care policy
  • Paid lunch for working beyond 4 hours in line with our expenses policy
  • 20% off preloved goods in the shop you work in
  • Free beverages and biscuits
  • Access to training opportunities
  • A supportive and friendly environment where you can have fun, enjoy yourself and feel good knowing you are helping others
  • In addition, the volunteering team can direct you to other groups you may like to get involved with, including our Friends of Tenovus Cancer Care fundraising groups and our Sing with Us choirs

 Who would it suit?

A lover of homeware/collectibles! You could be a collector yourself, willing to share your knowledge with others and create eye-catching displays.
