Digital Start CIC is seeking passionate Volunteer Mentors to support our free digital skills bootcamps for young people aged 16-30 from disadvantaged backgrounds and vulnerable adults, including elderly individuals, in Rhondda Cynon Taf. As a mentor, you’ll guide participants through training in web development, cloud computing, or data analysis, helping them build skills and confidence for tech careers. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-on-one or small group support during online or in-person sessions.

  • Sharing industry insights and career advice.

  • Assisting with practical exercises and projects.

  • Promoting an inclusive, supportive environment in line with our Safeguarding Policy.

No prior mentoring experience is required, but an interest in tech and a commitment to empowering others are essential. Volunteers must undergo enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding training, provided free by Digital Start CIC. Sessions are held weekly, with flexible scheduling (2-4 hours/week) at different venues like Pontypridd Community Centre or online via secure platforms. Join us to make a difference in RCT’s diverse communities.
