The Role
We’re looking for a Choir Leader with musicality to bring people affected by cancer together. Have you got strong admin, customer service and organisational skills? Have you the experience, passion & enthusiasm to inspire people affected by cancer to sing for enjoyment together?
We’re looking for someone to lead our choir rehearsals & performances and be an organised admin maestro when it comes to bringing all of this together.
Our ‘Sing with Us’ choirs have been offering support, friendship and fun for people affected by Cancer and their families for over 15 years across Wales. With over 15 choirs spread throughout Wales, our Area Co-ordinators are front and centre to the running of these choirs and co-ordinating their activities.
In this role you’ll be responsible for overseeing 4 ‘Sing with Us’ choirs in your responsibility area and you’ll lead rehearsals for one of these choirs in the Mid or South Wales area. You’ll provide musical direction at rehearsals, as well as conducting and co-ordinating all the choir’s activities and performances.
The Fit
We’re looking for an exceptional individual with proven musical expertise. You’ll provide a supportive, fun and fulfilling experience that brings people together, act as an ambassador for the ‘Sing with Us’ Choirs and passionately promote the choirs in your local areas through participating in events and maximising opportunities to be heard in the heart of the community.
As you’ll be the first point of contact for the choristers, you’ll be able to communicate clearly, as well as listen and support. You’ll understand the importance of working safely and keeping our choristers safe too, adhering to our polices and processes when it comes to things like Health and Safety, Data Protection and Safeguarding, among others.
Our Choirs run throughout the week and in the evenings and we hold performances on weekends too, so you’ll be flexible to be able to support this.
