We are looking to start peer support groups in the RCT/South Wales area for people over 18 years old with spinal cord injury or veterans with a mental or physical disability. However, each group must be held in separate groups, each group must contain only 10 participants maximum to start with and run over 8 weekly or bi-weekly 2 hour sessions. Then the sessions with have an open group for continued support.
This is an evidence-based peer support group with has been shown to work and improve the quality of life for those that attend.
We also offer peer support groups once every 4 weeks for family, friends and carers but this could be changed to bi-weekly if asked for.
