The mid-Rhondda youth club launches a community consultation to guide developments as we approach our centenary in 2029
Llwynypia Boys & Girls Club announces the launch of a community-wide consultation to find out what local children and young people, families and the public want from our Club. Over Christmas we’re running a survey to understand what people value about what we do, what we should do in the future and how best to restore and develop our building. This is a new chapter for the Club after an unavoidable but disappointing period of closure due to problems with the building. The consultation launched on our social media on Saturday 2nd December.
To encourage your participation in the survey, we’re offering a prize draw to win High Street vouchers to spend in our town centre. Look out for links to our online surveys or for downloadable questionnaires for children and adults on the ususal social media channels (Twitter/X, Facebook & Instagram) - search Llwynypiabgc.
You can find our online surveys here for children & young people
and here for parents, carers and the public
The physical decline of the Llwynypia Boys & Girls Club site is having an adverse effect on the ability of the charity to provide our popular and well-attended services to children and young people in their local community, in a safe, sustainable and effective manner, with the building having been closed for the past two months.
In 2029, the organisation will celebrate its centenary. By this time, subject to funding and with plans informed through this programme of community consultation, the Club aims to have undertaken a significant redevelopment of the current site, creating a revitalised community venue that will support the needs of current and future generations of local children and young people.
We understand that designing a successful redeveloped building and site needs to be grounded in what our children, young people and wider community want from us and the building we operate from. We therefore need to involve all our stakeholders in helping us understand what is wanted and needed and to help us to design it. We aim to enable everyone who wants to, to give their views in a way that suits their needs.
