HOPE (Helping Other's to Participate and Engage) is an Age Cymru project which trains Independent Volunteer Advocates to support older people and their carers in communities throughout Wales.
Our trained Independent Volunteer Advocates help older people and their carers access services like utilities, GP, housing and benefits. So far we have helped many older people across Wales in many different ways, including:
- Signposting people clubs and support groups enabling people to overcome social isolation and engage with their local community
- Representing people to landlords to progress urgent house repairs
- By helping people to compile and draft notes to provide to their GP for them get the health care support they need
If you know anyone who could use the help of one of our Volunteer Advocates, please let them know about us. People can get in touch with us via email or phone.
HOPE works across Wales and is a partnership between Age Cymru, Age Cymru local partners and Age Connects Wales partners.
If you, or someone you know, would like the support of an Independent Volunteer Advocate please contact Bryony Darke ([email protected], or 07943186780)
