ASC has established a volunteering project and called it ‘Gyda’n Gilydd’ which translates as ‘Together ‘and represents the organisation’s services users/ cares involvement commitment. The project embraces co-production through the involvement of volunteers’ experts. Gyda’n Gilydd will recruit a diverse group of volunteers with lived experience of mental health problems and independent advocacy support plus the carers of those with lived experience of mental health or those who lack the capacity to make complex decisions for themselves. The volunteers will represent the full age demographic from Children and Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to Older Persons Mental Health Units. Being part of Gyda’n Gilydd means that service users and carers could have the opportunity to benefit from volunteering in terms of wellbeing outcomes as well as inputting to service delivery and quality assurance.
