Take a look back at our Connecting Communities event in Rhondda, one of Interlink’s flagship networking gatherings. Bringing together community groups, voluntary organisations, funders, councillors and partners, the event created a vibrant space to connect, collaborate and share ideas.

From engaging stalls and insightful micro sessions to valuable conversations with funders, the day was all about building strong relationships and supporting the communities we serve.

Manage Money Wales

Manage Money Wales is a Community Sharing Hub in Porth that supports people to build financial confidence while tackling poverty, loneliness and waste. Founded in 2015, it has grown from a small pop-up service into a trusted, volunteer-powered space offering money management support, shared resources and inclusive community activities, helping people connect, save money and support a more sustainable local community.

Comfort and Hope Bereavement Support

Comfort and Hope Bereavement Support is a community-led group founded in March 2025 to ensure no one in Rhondda Cynon Taf faces grief alone. Created by local residents in response to a gap in support, the group offers free, compassionate listening, practical help and gentle guidance to help people adjust to life after loss, supported by Interlink RCT and local partners.

Dare Valley Community Woodland

Dare Valley Community Woodland is a volunteer-run green space in the Cynon Valley, created by local people to support wellbeing, learning and connection with nature. What began as a small youth project is now an inclusive community hub, offering activities for all ages while caring for the woodland for future generations.

Connecting Communities Volunteering Video

Cynon Valley Organic Adventures

13 December 2024

Cynon Valley Organic Adventures was severely impacted by the recent flooding from Storm Bert, which left their site 4ft underwater, damaging their cabin, Christmas grotto, and gardens. They applied for Interlink’s Community Flood Fund to replace learning resources, easing the burden and allowing them to open their Christmas grotto in time for their event.

We asked Snapshots Camera Club in Aberdare to take photos for the word 'Community', and their talented members sent us a collection of 14 images.

The top 3 were displayed at our Connecting Communities in Rhondda networking event, where you voted for your favourite photo, which is the new homepage banner on Connect RCT from October until Armistice Day!

Interlink RCT asked groups to tell us the value of volunteering and the difference it makes to the local community and their organisation. After a poll on Connect RCT, the top 3 organisations were interviewed to learn more about the value of their volunteers and the well-being benefits.
